From the ER Floor to the Terminal

For years, the sound of monitor alarms and overhead pages was my soundtrack. I spent my days in scrubs, navigating the controlled chaos of hospital floors — pushing crash carts down hallways, charting vitals at 3 a.m., and learning to stay steady when everything around me was anything but.

Healthcare taught me things no bootcamp ever could: how to stay calm under pressure, how to communicate clearly when the stakes are high, and how to learn fast when someone's counting on you. Those skills didn't disappear when I traded my badge for a laptop — they became my foundation.

The transition wasn't a straight line. There were late nights after long shifts, tutorials that made no sense the first (or fourth) time through, and plenty of moments where imposter syndrome hit harder than any code review ever could. But every small win — a test passing, a feature shipping, a concept finally clicking — felt like that rush of getting a patient stabilized.
